In a genre dominated by men, Kodie Shane differentiates herself with her ability to blend her Atlanta rap flow with her ethereal R&B singing voice, bringing a new approach to bubblegum trap, within the larger Atlanta trap scene. If Lil Yachty established himself as the King of Teens, then Kodie Shane is the Queen.
Born in Atlanta and raised in Chicago, the 18-year-old rapper moved back to Atlanta, where she released her first two EPs, 2060 and Little Rocket. She dropped her Zero Gravity EP in December and the Big Trouble Little Jupiter mixtape in January in anticipation for her upcoming debut album. With the help of frequent collaborators, producers Matty P and D Clax, Kodie Shane has managed to create a vibrant sound, bringing emotion to the rap game.
Check out her singles “Sad” featuring Lil Yachty, “NOLA” off of Big Trouble Little Jupiter, and watch her freestyling prowess on her verse on “All In.” Be sure to catch her at The Middle East Upstairs on Febuary 20th and look out for an interview with her coming soon.
