Mega Bog Mesmerizes at the Sinclair

Mega Bog’s set at the Sinclair showcased their unique, jazz-influenced spin on rock. With guitar, bass, drums, and keys in tow, plus a clarinet, the group wove their way in and out of swirling songs like “T.V. M.A.C.” and “Marianne” from their recent album Happy Together. Frontwoman Erin Birgy’s voice was as powerful as it was versatile, ranging from a soft coo to a full-throated bellow. In a moment of calm banter, she accused the audience of looking tired, but I think we were just collectively mesmerized by the music.
