Ty Segall & The Muggers Tonight (3/1) at Royale

Just a few months after performing with his band Fuzz at The Sinclair, Ty Segall is returning to Boston. He will stop at Royale tonight (Tuesday March 1st) with his backing band The Muggers as he tours for the release of Emotional Mugger. This is the eighth studio album that the multi-instrumental, California-based artist whose sound oscillates between low-fi garage and psychedelic indie rock. Distinctive from his past albums, Emotional Mugger plays on a thematic condemnation of our addiction to instant gratification, the Internet, and "candy" (a recurring metaphor). We can expect an awesome but unsettling show, synthesizer-heavy with lengthy guitar solos and leaving the audience with a renewed desire to get off the grid. For an explanation from the man himself of "Emotional Mugging,"his Emotional Mugger music video, and performance on Jimmy Fallon check out the links below.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z3aklEgwjF8https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NV-ugE80nEg  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vqkqsS2uxis
