The Band CAMINO at the House of Blues, 4/29

On April 29th, the Nashville-based rock act The Band CAMINO delivered a spellbinding performance at Boston’s House of Blues. Embarking on their first tour in two years, the band electrified the venue and had everyone in the crowd dancing along to their tunes. As soon as the reverbed vocals of “Know It All'' filled the room, the crowd erupted; the song’s highlight was when singer/guitarist Spencer Stewart delivered a ferocious guitar solo.

They followed up with their upbeat “Roses”, and proceeded to entertain fans with many more hits from their most recent self-titled album (“I Think I Like You”, “Song About You”, “Underneath My Skin”) and old favorites (“Hush Hush”, “Haunted”, “See Through”).

In interludes interspersed between their performances, the band took the time to thank their fans and muse about how excited they were to be back on stage. As incredible as the band sounds on headphones or through a speaker, nothing beats the feeling of being with them as they play their anthemic, deeply personal songs. The lighting and visuals were also nothing short of breathtaking and were intimately intertwined with each song’s distinct atmosphere.

It was bittersweet and poetic hearing them finish their nineteen-song-long setlist with “Daphne Blue”, the very same song that had introduced me to the band three years ago - the fans, myself included, wouldn’t have minded if the show went on forever.
